from Berlin or Dortmund: at junction Hanover Ost change from the A2 to the A7 direction Kassel, take exit no.62 Hildesheim
from Hamburg or Kassel: take exit no. 62 Hildesheim.
After exit no. 62 follow the B1 in direction Hameln and drive through Hildesheim. After 7 km at entrance to Mahlerten turn right in direction Nordstemmen.
Marienburg Castle stands on the hills in front. In Nordstemmen at second roundabout take exit 3 and follow the signs.

by bus
at Hanover central bus station take bus no. 300 with direction Pattensen, change bus in Pattensen bus station and take bus no. 310 with direction Eldagsen. Get off at stop Marienburg Abzweig Nord, about 1,5 km walk to Marienburg Castle.
