AAscending the stairs of the main tower in good weather conditions is worth the effort – the viewing platform allows for a marvelous view on the river “Leine” and the “Calenberger Land”.
TThe breathtaking view from the tower’s viewing platform was long reserved exclusively for the royal family. Today, every visitor who manages to climb the 160 steps to the platform is rewarded with a stunning view of the “Leine” valley and the “Calenberger Land”.
If the sun shines, you look as far as Hanover and Hildesheim. A guided tour takes you to the vieweng platform. Note that the offer is restricted to the summer season and if weather conditions permit.
Group tours (10 to 20 persons) require booking in advance. Larger groups will be split and start at 30 minute intervals.

TThe number of participants is limited to 20 persons for safety reasons. Children younger than 7 are not allowed to ascent the tower. Children from 7 to 14 need to be accompanied by an adult.
The duration of the tour, including ascent, stay at the viewing platform and descent, is ca. 30 minutes.
The guided tour “Ascent to the tower” may be cancelled in bad weather conditions or due to other incidents.
